Seeking spiritually-guided Director of Music Ministry, proficient in playing piano and organ, to oversee and develop our music program. Successful candidate will be committed to integrating a variety of music and the arts into worship and will possess strong collaborative skills and enthusiasm for being part of a worship team. Currently we have an Adult choir, Children’s choir, and Handbells choir, with two weekly choir practices, and one Sunday service. Approximately 15 hours per week. Salary: $12,500-$15,000 negotiable, based on experience. Yamaha C-3 Conservatory Grand Piano and Allen Digital Organ in sanctuary, plus 5-ocatve Malmark Handbells typically played 1 Sunday per month. Epworth UMC is seeking an energetic and organized administrative assistant to work 26 hours per week. Requirements include proficient secretarial skills, competency in basic computer use, excellent phone etiquette, and good office management abilities. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. Interview required. Compensation: $16,000.00 per year. Announcing our new pastor!

John R. Schol, Bishop of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, has announced that Rev. Patricia Watson will be Epworth's new lead pastor, effective July 1st, 2012. Rev. Watson is currently the pastor of Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs, WV, and Epworth will be her fourth appointment.

Rev. Kim Hall will be leaving Epworth at the end of May. She has been called to serve as a chaplain in the U.S. Army.
