Bike collection this Saturday 10-1 at Epworth.
Epworth is combining two mission opportunities to deliver local and global impacts.
- Luggage for foster kids: A local foster care agency, Arrow Child & Family Ministries, has indicated a dire need for luggage and backpacks for the children they serve. The kids often carry their belongings in trash bags, for lack of a better alternative. New luggage or backpacks are preferred over used items, and they can be any type. The kids most in need are aged 13-21.
- Third annual bike collection drive: Bikes for the World is a nonprofit organization that can deliver your old bike to a new owner overseas where it will be used to get someone to school, work, or health services. Your bike and a suggested $10 donation help deserving individuals gain affordable transportation in rural areas worldwide. Your old bike could help transform lives. New this year – We’re looking for individuals to help pick up bikes from local donors, between now and collection day. Arrange the pickup for a day and time that suits you. This strategy helped us collect many bikes last year!
- If you don’t have a bike or luggage to donate, we’re accepting monetary donations. Donations received will go toward the purchase of additional luggage and some personal items to be placed in each bag. Donations will also help defer the cost of processing and shipping the bikes overseas.
Luggage can be dropped off at the church Monday through Friday 10-3 or on Sunday mornings. For donating bikes, contact Matt Steiner at firstname.lastname@example.org or 410.925.3697.
